2021 RVMYC Centenary Briefing Instructions
Sunday 27th February 2022 Williamstown Open Water Swim – Sunday 27th February The Williamstown Surf Life Saving Club each year hosts the WOW Swim. This is a great opportunity to use your boat and help the community while promoting our club. The idea for our boats is to simply anchor parallel to and outside the southern boundary of the course to help define the course to other boating in the area. Why not grab a bunch of people and have a bacon and egg breakfast on your boat while watching other people exercise on a Sunday morning. The event starts at 8:00am so get there and anchored before that. Make sure the swing of your anchor doesn’t let you infringe on the course.
The RVMYC bar will be open from 2:00pm Australia day!
Book for lunch and receive a complimentary glass of bubbles, a small gift and enjoy the smooth sounds of our local artist.
Poker Run – Saturday 19th February The aim of the game is to go out on your boat and gather five sealed envelopes, each containing a Playing Card from nominated locations on the water or elsewhere, return to the Club Bar and present the sealed envelopes to a Game Marshall, and have your hand recorded. The best hand according to Basic Poker Rules takes first prize. Second best hand will take second prize and third best third prize. There may also be a few door prizes to award at the judges discretion. The main aim of the game is to have fun, use your boats and create camaraderie within the Club. Skippers are encouraged to host nonboat owners on their boats and non-boat owners are encouraged to seek a place on a boat. It is strongly suggested that guests on boats bring along a drink or something for the boat […]
SYC Cup Navrally – Sunday 20th February The SYC Cup is Sandringham Yacht Club’s Open Navrally event. This event also incorporates the CUB Cup which is a team event just between SYC and RVMYC. The aggregate score of the best three boats from each club in the event is taken and the lowest score wins the CUB Cup for that club. After holding the CUB Cup for many years RVMYC lost it last year. It would be great to see a big contingent from RVMYC go to SYC this year to reclaim the trophy and bring it back to our club. This event is a great opportunity to visit one of our sister clubs and get to know their members in a relaxed social environment. SYC put on a great BBQ lunch after the event.
